If you're looking for a solid performance notebook, the IBM ThinkPad T42p 2373-KXU is worth serious consideration. The IBM ThinkPad T Series notebooks are the perfect balance of performance and portability. At 1.5 inches high, this is certainly a thin notebook and it weighs in at only 5.25 pounds. There's nothing lightweight about the IBM ThinkPad T42p features and performance. It comes with an Intel Pentium M 755 2 GHz processor and 1 GB of DDR SDRAM - PC2700 - 333 MHz (expandable to 2 GB. The display is a 15" TFT active matrix 24-bit (16.7 million colors) UXGA for up to 1600x1200 resolution and powered by an ATI MOBILITY FIRE GL T2 with 128 MB RAM. For storage you get a 60 GB hard drive running at 7200 RPM and a DVD-RW/CD burner. IBM didn't stop short on connectivity for the ThinkPad T42p with an ethernet adapter that supports ethernet, fast ethernet, gigabit ethernet, Bluetooth, IEEE 802.11b, IEEE 802.11a and IEEE 802.11g wireless
and also comes with a 56K BPS data / internet / fax modem. This notebook comes with built-in stereo speakers, wireless LAN antenna,
ThinkLight and a Bluetooth antenna. Included ports are headphone line out, external microphone, external display, AC adapter, expansion bus port (for Optional Dock II/Mini Dock or Port Replicator II), infrared, parallel, RJ-11, RJ-45, S-Video out and 2 USB 2.0 ports.
